JULIE QUIGLEY - ODUBER

"A primitive artist"

In memory of my mother, Julie Quigley - Oduber. Her presence in my life was an enduring source of love, strength, and wisdom. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support shaped the person I am today. Teaching me compassion, resilience, and the value of kindness. Her laughter was infectious, and her smile warmed even the coldest of days. The countless lives she touched with her selflessness and grace has made her a legacy that lives on. In her honor, I strive to live a life filled with the same love and grace that she so beautifully embodied and most certainly share her contributions of culture and art.

Julie Quigley Oduber had a successful journey in her unique what we call as “Primitive Art”. She has captured the beautiful landscape of Aruba in her paintings. Julie was born in Puerto Rico and married Dr. Gustavo Oduber in Aruba. She then continue to harness the spirit of Aruba ever since.

Furthermore, Julie has been mentioned in the first ever written book on Dutch Caribbean Art by Adi Martis and Jennifer Smit. As an avid art lover, she continues her study in the arts under the great master tutelage of Jean George Pandellis (1896-19650, A Greek born in Malta who has been the most influential and has traveled all over South America including Surinam, Peru, and Curacao to name a few.
